Five Out
Higher, lower or match. Empty your deck first.
How it plays
A fast card game for one to eight players. Five cards sit face up on the table in a plus shape, and the rest are dealt out into a face-down deck for each player. Be the first to get rid of yours.
On your turn, lay the top card of your deck on any of the five piles and call it before you see it: higher, lower or a match. Guess right and your card stays. Guess wrong and the whole pile comes back to you.
Call a match exactly and you lay a card on every other pile too: five cards out in a single turn, which is where the game gets its name. Land one away and you still play three.
- 1
Pick a pile
Any of the five on the table.
- 2
Make the call
Higher, lower or match, before the card turns.
- 3
Keep it or take it
Right and it stays. Wrong and the pile is yours.
What's on the table
-
Wild cards
Smash a pile flat, strike four at once with Lightning, or turn the table with Swap and Peek.
-
Chains and doubles
Be right by exactly one and the next card plays itself for free, as long as the run keeps going.
-
Play your way
On your own against computer players, passing one device round the table, or online with a four-digit code.
-
Big tables
Up to eight at a table, and parties of up to forty spread across several tables at once.
-
Fair to the end
Going out doesn't end the round on the spot: everyone gets the same number of turns.
-
Tables and decks
Felt, wood and brass tables and decks of cards to earn as you play.
